John Kohos - President and Founder

With more than 25 years of experience in the computer services industry, John founded GUARDIAN in March 1999 to address a continuing need for quality support in the chronically under-serviced small and medium-size client market. The result is a tactical, cutting edge solution provider that doesn’t sit on its hands waiting to be asked for good advice.

John was also the founding President of Earth Day Quebec and a co-founding director of The Green Coalition, a local activist group that raised over $100 million to buy the remaining forests around the West island of Montreal from developers to preserve as public parks.

Valerie Kohos - V.P. Business Intelligence

Formerly a media analyst with the Federal Government - Department of External Affairs, Valerie was responsible for analyzing countless publications from all over the world to provide in-depth reporting to Federal policymakers. She also worked with a well-established Human Resources firm as an HR consultant immediately prior to joining GUARDIAN.

Valerie's extensive background in HR and policy research for the Federal Government provide her with the ability to assist Guardian’s clients in the automation of their business processes and strategic technology consulting.

Jeff Kohos - V.P. Business Development

Jeff is a CA with 13 years experience managing a private apparel-related company. After a successful run that saw the business’ operations expand into Hong Kong, Jeff sold his share of the business in 2006 to take responsibility for business development at GUARDIAN. Being responsible for the IT of his former company and one of the first clients of GUARDIAN made the decision to move an easy one.

Jeff also has a deep commitment to the community, having spent much time as a fundraiser and for the last 11 years has been acting as an Executive Committee member and VP Finance of a local private school.

Marc-Andre Poupier - Chief System Architect

Marc is a genius, no matter how much he hates when we say that. He sees things in his head that other people need to figure out with charts and calculators. With experience as diverse as a lineman climbing telephone polls for Bell and being a government-level IT consultant calculating the impact of Exchange clustering, Marc provides the technological guidance and vision that is essential to the company’s growth.

Mike Hood - Director of Technical Services

Mike has been working with John for almost 18 years. In the early pre-Guardian days the business was all about hardware. And Mike knows more about what makes computers tick (or stop ticking) than anybody. So, in addition to his highly developed technical skills, Mike is also responsible for recommending and negotiating hardware deals for Guardian’s clients. And Mike’s experience comes in pretty handy when our customers need a little service from manufacturers.
